Hello and welcome to our latest missive, keeping you up to date with everything that we’ve been up to since we last checked in!

The crazy summer beer festival schedule has been relentless this year!

We were thrilled to be asked to showcase our beers for the first time at London Craft Beer Festival at the beginning of August, pouring on the ‘South London Brewer’s Bar’ alongside fantastic London brewers, with plenty of outrageously delicious beer from our industry mates (shout out to Anspach & Hobday who shared our cozy booth for the whole weekend!).

Tobacco Dock in Wapping is a superb location for a beer festival, and we were back there a month later at the beginning of September to serve our beers for Meatopia. This weekend-long festival worships at the altar of animal proteins, and it’s fair to say that we all needed a week of a plant-based diet after the event! We were thrilled to be invited by our dear friend & industry guru Melissa Cole to represent at Craftopia, the Craft Beer bar at the festival, alongside a carefully-curated bunch of breweries from across the UK & beyond.

September also saw us returning to one of our favourite events – Leeds International Beer Festival. It was our fourth time there, and every year it gets bigger and better. We’ve also just returned from TAPS Festival in Birmingham last weekend – Craft Beer Rising’s beer festival in the UK’s second city. It was an absolutely sensational weekend full of great beer, laughs & some slightly suspect dancing!

We also had a couple of fantastic tap-takeover events in London during August, firstly at the stunning Barrel and Horn in Bromley, then at the Half Moon in Herne Hill. If that wasn’t enough, we’re also in residency at Venn Street Market in Clapham, every Saturday throughout September until October 6th.

Finally, we were super-hyped to be pouring alongside three other superb breweries last weekend at Mercato Metropolitano. Showcasing Festbiers, Dunkels & other German-style beers, we teamed up with GermanKraft, Gipsy Hill Brewing Co & Anspach & Hobday to each pour beers at this banging Oktoberfest event!

Bringing things in-house, we’ve got a couple of cracking events at the brewery coming up; the next Mondo & Friends open day & knees-up will be held on November 3rd this year. Keep an eye on our website & social media for a full list of our collaborative partners, special releases & a full taplist as it’s finalised. Food will be served from the awesome Passyunk Avenue, making proper cheesesteaks for hungry drinkers.

In addition, following the sold-out success of the last Comedy in the Brewery night, we’ll be hosting the next raft of comedians on November 6th at the brewery. Who knew that beer and comedy were such perfect bedfellows? This one is not to be missed, though due to the size of our bar, tickets are limited! Check our website & social media for updates.

Finally, we’ve got a whole host of beers due for release over the next few weeks. Our Imperial Pale Weizen is a collaboration with Urban Chestnut Brewing Company, a Noble-hopped IPA fermented out with their house Wheat beer yeast. We’ve also just released The Hofftoberfest, just in time for Oktoberfest celebrations! It’s a 6.2% Festival Wheat Beer, a dark, Dunkel-like malt body is freshened up with a beautiful Wheat beer yeast strain, and lightly hopped to showcase all the lovely biscuit, caramel & banana flavours in the beer.

We’re also hyped to announce that Prodigal Saison, our collaboration with Fuller’s, is now on general sale & can be found at loads of Fuller’s pubs across the city & beyond. Weighing in at a sessionable 4.5% abv, and hopped with Chinook & Mosaic, it’s a lovely little beer, and we had a fantastic time brewing with the lovely Fuller’s guys over at their brewery.

As we move into Autumn, keep an eye out too for the return of London Alt, our Dorfbier, plus some other Germanic styles. We’re not putting the IPAs to bed quite yet though, with Hongi, a New Zealand-hopped Pale sitting in our fermenters right now. Keep an eye out for this little number in the next couple of weeks!

Peace and love,
