The start of July saw some glorious sunshine and the return of our seasonal IPAs Hop Chowdah (03/07) and Green Monstah (11/07). Brewed by our directors Todd and Tom respectively, they’re juicy, low-bitterness IPAs dressed with distinctively different hops, and both available in keg & bottle right now. We’ve had plenty of nights in the Taphouse here at Mondo debating our preferred brew, and now you can too!

On deck for the end of July are two more IPAs that couldn’t be more different! Champale is our new Extra-Brut IPA. Fermented out normally with our house ale yeast, this beer is then dosed with a brewing enzyme that eats up all remaining sugars. What’s left is a bone-dry beer with a very Champagne-like body. We first brewed this style at the beginning of May in Paris, with our friends at Brasserie Outland, Malmö Brewing, and homebrewing legend Mike “Tasty” McDole.

We’re very excited to announce the return of Kemosabe! This 6.4% IPA is a classic of the West Coast style. Super dank, resinous & full of notes of pine, citrus and green fruit, we finally found time in the brew schedule for this little number. Released 27 July in the Tap House and 31 July in the greater London market in keg and bottle.

Our American Pale Ale Juice Crew returns in August with a new twist. This beer is the proverbial mommy and daddy of Road Soda, our NE Pale that’s the latest addition to our Core range in keg & bottle. We’ve revisited the basic recipe for Juice Crew, and we’ve taken advantage of our bigger Brewhouse to do something fun…a 60Hl brew of Juice Crew has been split into 3 different tanks, the beer sitting on White Peach, Guava and Passionfruit in different 20hl conditioning tanks. We’ll launch all three at the beginning of next month, and we can’t wait for you to try them!

We’ve also got some great events going on around South London this month. We’re very excited to join our friends Gipsy Hill Brewing Co at their pub The Douglas Fir on the 20th of July, for a Mondo Tap Takeover! We’ve held back a couple of recent seasonal beers for the party, so there’ll be a great range of our beers on tap. Of course, we’ll all be there too, so come down and say hi!

We’re also very excited to be teaming up with Enable Events for Foodstock this year, held on the weekend of the 27th of July in Battersea park. This free weekend-long event is a celebration of epicurean curiosity, with loads of fantastic street food, artisan drinks, live music and, of course, plenty of Mondo beers! We’re the sole brewery supplying the festival this year, and we can’t wait to join the fun down in Battersea park over the weekend! Not only will there be a Mondo bar the whole weekend, but we’ll also be running a workshop on Saturday 28th with free bottle tastings throughout the session, showcasing styles as diverse as Belgian Trappist beers, Sour ales and everything in between!

So kick back, grab a cold one, kick out the jams, and enjoy this beautiful weather while it lasts.

Cheers, MBC x
