New beer: Trainspotting.

Happy New Year! Our New England IPA, Trainspotting, a collaboration with Missouri’s Narrow Gauge, is being packaged tomorrow. Once we’ve given it some necessary quality control (drinking copious amounts) in our tap house, we’ll be celebrating the first public pour with our friends at Mother Kelly’s, Bethnal Green. It’ll be pouring alongside two other fresh brews, our J. Wakefield collab DIPA, Wake & Bake, and our just packaged Aussie Pale, Raise The Endeavour (see below). So, we’ll be taking the team East for some fun on Thursday 24th January, we’d love for you to join in what’s bound to be a great night.

Tap House news: Super Bowl, Quiz.

We’re showing the Super Bowl on Sunday 3rd February and pouring all your beer needs until the early hours. We’re fully licensed, with full build up and food options beforehand. If that doesn’t entice you, as usual, we’ve got all the free popcorn you can eat. You do need to sign up on Eventbrite, it’s free to do so, and will help us manage numbers and people in/out once it gets late.

There’s been a really nice buzz around our new Wednesday quiz online and last night’s first run went great. All the tables were full, with a great partnership deal in place on food with our friends, Honest Burgers Clapham, and our host Jools kept everyone in order beautifully. Introducing: Intern Anaïs.

Hailing from the town of Dijon, Anaïs joins us for two months as a brewhouse intern. Currently completing a Biology Masters 1 in France, she’s over here to learn more about the overall brewing process, and has spent much of her first two weeks packaging (with the inevitable cleaning). Her music of choice is disco, which is better than anything Jan Bornemann plays on brew days, and her favourite beer is surprisingly not Tony and Nico’s homebrew, but our dark fruit stout, Turnt. Hard-working Anaïs has settled in great and we’re looking forward to what else she brings to the team.

In tank: Raise The Endeavour.

Following on from 2018’s New Zealand Pale Ale, Hongi, we continue to showcase Southern Hemisphere hops in 2019 with Raise The Endeavour. This well balanced and refreshing Aussie Pale Ale highlights the punchy, bright, fruity characteristics of the freshest Australian hops available. Extra Pale Malt provides the base. CaraPils and Crystal Rye added for body. Bittered with CO2 Hop Extract. Enigma, Galaxy and Vic Secret added for flavour addition and Enigma and Galaxy added for dry hop aroma. Fermented with our house West Coast Ale yeast strain for clean malt and hop profiles. Packaging very soon and available in our Tap House from next week.
